PROST!

our friends from houston, eric and sarah, came to visit for the edinburgh festival from aug 21 to 29th.  it was an absolute blast having them over from texas and it was great fun enjoying our last festival as 'locals'.  the sumner/smoor/mccoy flat was a mad house with bodies everywhere!  every night was characterized by delicious, home-cooked meals and tasty brews.  we went to a handful of fringe performances and even saw jack (carrie's boyfriend) perform.  eric and sarah went to glasgow and the highlands on the days that dustin and i were working, where they got to see scotland's diverse scenery.  then, we all packed up and headed to munich for a whirlwind two days of hoffbrau-haus-drinking and currywurst-sausage-eating.  a dear friend put us in touch with her niece who lives in munich and she and her boyfriend introduced us to the coolest biergarten ever, augustiner keller.  (www.augustinerkeller.de)  when we weren't cycling around the city or eating sausage, we were touring coop himmelb(l)au's bmw welt showroom beside munich's olympic park.  eric and sarah were awesome travel companions and we loved spending the evenings with carina and max, our new local munich friends!

upon return to edinburgh, we spent eric and sarah's last day in the city at the braids golf course high above the city.  after nine holes of golf and stunning views of edinburgh below, we hit up the scotch whisky experience and the st. john's festival craft fair, ending the day with a memorable birthday meal at the basement with emily and simon.....fajitas!

go here to see photos of eric & sarah's visit and our munich adventure!

in the midst of all the festivities and travel, dustin has been working long hours and corresponding with an office in austin regarding an employment opportunity.  we are saying our prayers but are open to anything, so long as we end up in texas!  we'll keep you posted...
